The best time to visit Baijnath is March to June for the most pleasant weather, and September to November for paragliding at Bir Billing and crystal-clear mountain views.
Spring and Summer: March to June (Recommended)
Temperatures 10C to 28C. The Kangra Valley is lush green, all activities are available, and the Dhauladhar mountain views are spectacular. Best overall window for first-time visitors.
Monsoon: July to August (Avoid for First Visits)
Heavy rainfall. Roads can be slippery with occasional landslide risk on mountain routes. Paragliding is suspended. Bangoru Waterfall is most dramatic during monsoon season.
Autumn: September to November (Best for Paragliding)
Crystal-clear post-monsoon skies. Best season for mountain photography. International Paragliding World Cup held in October at Bir Billing. Temperatures 8C to 22C.
Winter: December to February
Temperatures near 0C at night. Snow at higher elevations. Maha Shivratri in February is the biggest festival of the year, drawing tens of thousands of pilgrims despite the cold.
